Earlier this year, Christopher Pyne MP, announced that Downer Defence Services had been awarded as one of only four successful Major Service Provider (MSP) teams to the Department of Defence’s Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group (CASG). Downer Defence Services consists of AGIS, Envista (Downer companies) along with DXC Technology, SYSTRA Scott Lister and Providence Consulting.
This result presents a major opportunity to build our workforce as well as develop our existing teams. We expect 2018 and onwards to present substantial more opportunities for AGIS.
Following on from our successful MSP notification, we were also successful in winning our first Integrated Work Package (IWP), taking on the above the line work within Joint Systems Division’s Critical Systems Branch. Click here to see what Minister Pyne said about the announcement.
AGIS sponsorship of ‘Foot Loose’ in support of Oxfam Trailwalker
20 March 2018
This March, AGIS is supporting Fiona Jones and her team mates; Dom, Sam and Zac to raise funds for Oxfam Australia. The team, Foot Lose, will start and finish a 100 km walk together through the Victorian Dandenong Ranges and Yarra Valley in 48 hours. The team currently has raised $2,750.00 with AGIS’s help matching the first $1,000.00 donated.
The team at AGIS has also provided great advice from their military careers such as:
AGIS is pleased to announce its acquisition by Downer. This exciting opportunity allows AGIS to continue to provide services to its clients under the same management, while expanding the service offerings of both AGIS and Downer.
The National Commission of Audit recommends a significantly smaller Defence Materiel Organisation with a renewed focus on contract management as opposed to project management. Presents opportunities for project delivery to be contracted to companies such as AGIS that specialise in capital equipment design, procurement, introduction into service and integrated logistics support.
Increasing cyber security vulnerabilities for old systems
26 March 2014
Companies face increased cyber security vulnerabilities when holding on to systems for too long; regular refresh through cloud-based solutions that avoid large upfront capital investment may provide a more secure and cost-effective solution.
AGIS has recently been accepted to the Australian Maritime Safety Authority’s Maritime Reform Panel. We look forward to opportunities to provide project, program and ICT services under this arrangement.
